To start in Ambit, you need to create your list of fifty prospects, people you know and start your foundation. Of the fifty prospects, it is expected that you will have between five and ten people interested in electricity service and only one to three people, that are actually interested in becoming an Ambit Consultant. The training states you invite your friend to a meeting and/or show give them a link to your website.
Ambit's power is its product. Ambit has a product that everyone uses and everyone NEEDS. Don't sell the business to your friends unless you are very skilled salesman. Your goal is to help them first and then you can sell them on the opportunity, later. You will convert many more friends this way and you will at least sign up many more energy consumers.
Rule 1 - Don't try to convert your friends into business owners. Your friends may not be business minded or just not in right frame of mind to understand the power of the opportunity. And honestly, you probably don't have the skills to handle their objections. Think about this for one minute. You approach your buddy and say I have an business opportunity for you, that I think you will like. Their answer is well I don't know, I don't know its right for me. What is worse, is that many friends will say yes, just because they don't want to disappoint you but will then avoid you for the next months or years. Why would you want to make you and your friends uncomfortable?
Try this approach, you walk up to your buddy and tell them, I can show you how to get free electricity and you can get a voucher for 3 days at a bunch of hotels. You have to be informal, and you have to say it just how your talk to each other. This is called giving another friend something we like to call the "Hook up". You need to embrace the power of the "Hook up"? So, you say to your friend, and you say. "Check it, I got the deal on my electricity bill, I'm paying $150 less now, let me hook you up, with the same deal. And also get a free hotel stay like every six months or so, AND get a 3 day hotel for just signing up" What do you think friend say? No, I don't want to save $150 less, Hell NO, they will jump at the chance to save $150.
Rule 2 - Give your friends the "Hook up". The "Hook Up" is the most powerful marketing tools ever created.
For this to really have an impression, you have to personally achieved free electricity. Saving, $10 on your bill, may not excite people, but saving $150 a month, and your friends will beat you down to change their energy company.
Rule 3 - Ask your friends for referrals, ONLY for the "Hook up".
Now your friend or prospect is more understanding of the offer and how they can sell this to their group of friends. Now, you invite them to join Ambit. They now have understanding of the business and how easy it is to ask a friend.
Rule 4 - Ask your friend to see the opportunity, after they are have joined Ambit energy consumer portion.
If your friend joins, then you are now going for duplication. You want them to market Ambit exactly the same way that you are. If you are helping people, its is so much easier to prospect them. Ambit's training says start with 50 people, but with this method, you can easily show this to everyone you know. Instead of 50, you can start with 200, 500 or even a thousand people.
Rule 5 - Duplication, get your consultants to market in a manner which is non-threatening and much more as someone who is helping them.
